Hands In Helping Out Social

On Sunday my husband, daughters, and I attended our first Hands In Helping Out (HIHO) social. We did some off-site volunteering for Hawaii Literacy and ate a TON of food. I need to remember to bring my Thanksgiving pants every time I hang out with them.

Let’s start with the food.

Scones were made by our friend Ryan and his brother Erik. Erik is the morning sous-chef at an awesome restaurant in Honolulu.

Fresh fruit.

Tomato bisque, grilled cheese and tuna melt sandwiches, and toast with olive oil.

Chocolate mousse and sweet potato haupia cheesecake.

Aren’t my girls (and husband) adorable?

And now on to the volunteering. We wrapped books that will be given out as gifts through Hawaii Literacy.

We ate. We laughed. We volunteered.

It was a good day.
