I love being a mom. I really do. I love my girls with all my heart. But one thing that I don’t love is when they’re sick. Especially when they’re sick and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Last week our 18-month-old was not only teething (fever) but she also had a little cold (coughing + runny nose). This weekend our 3-year-old had a cough and a stuffy nose. I couldn’t really do much beyond giving our youngest acetaminophen and putting Vicks® VapoRub® on them.
Actually, I did give them something else. But I don’t know how much lots of water and hugs really helps in getting rid of colds. I also let them watch TONS of cartoons. Which meant we could catch up on some Phineas & Ferb.
I just really hope that I don’t get sick. Because that means I won’t be able to take care of my girls. And that really sucks.
On a much lighter note, I made you guys some granola.
If maple syrup doesn’t float your boat, you could totally use honey.
Agave nectar might work too.
Homemade granola. It’s a good thing.
