Brave: A Non-Review

This past Saturday my husband, 3-year-old daughter, and I saw Pixar’s latest movie, Brave.

In short: I loved it.

Don’t worry. I won’t post any spoilers here. Nor will I actually review the movie.

What I do want to talk about is how I felt after watching it.

As a mother with two young daughters I totally related to both Merida and Queen Elinor.

Merida. The feisty daughter who doesn’t want every second of her life planned out for her. The daughter who feels smothered by her mother. The daughter who wants to be free to follow her own path.

Queen Elinor. The mother who just wants more for her daughter than she ever had. The mother who wants to protect her daughter from any harm. The mother who will never give up on her daughter.

Brave definitely struck a chord with me.

One that I don’t think will ever go away.

Go see it for yourself and let me know what you think.
