Arbine Villanueva-Hoapili was first introduced to the term shiny (meaning good, great, neat, wonderful, awesome, fun) while watching an episode of the sci-fi television show Firefly. The need for a creative outlet combined with the longing to share all the shiny things she discovered eventually led to My Shiny Life.

Arbine is a food geek who is a teensy bit obsessed with baking, blogging, and Doctor Who. She is currently a stay-at-home mom who enjoys every stress inducing minute of it. She will never turn down bacon wrapped anything, a nap, a cheeseburger with French fries, a trip to Paris, or watching You’ve Got Mail. Sometimes she writes for Aiming Low. Arbine lives in Hawaii with her husband, two sassy bass daughters, and dog.
